Book of 1 Peter
We are going to move on to the next chapter after James, 1 Peter. Why is there a 1 in front of this book’s title? There are two letters that Peter sent out to the new Christians and this is the first. Peter is one of the original disciples of Jesus, his birth name was Simon but Jesus called him by a new name “Peter” a greek name the mean rock.
After hearing about the persecution of new believers Peter sends out letters to the region of Turkey. These letters were sent from church to church.
