Book of James
My desirer this year is to write more consistently as I have done in the past. To help I will be going through a book of the bible in full doing a small portion of the chapter at a time, giving my perspective.
I will be using a Bible Discovery method, what is the “Bible Discovery Method”? It is a method I use with any group of people I am studying the bible with. I have found that if a person discovers their own revelation from the word it will stay with them for a long time. It is a simple process: read the passage (a group of verses); ask a set of five simple questions of every person, one question at a time.
There are two sets of questions I use from NPL (No Place Left).
- What do you like about this passage?
- What is difficult about this passage?
- What does this passage tell us about God?
- What does this passage tell us about people?
- What are you going to do with this passage / your personal revelation?
- What does this passage tell us about God?
- What does this passage tell us about people?
- Is there a sin to avoid / promise to claim?
- Is there a example to follow / a command to obey?
- What are you going to to with this passage / your personal revelation?
When I start a new book I will be sharing an overview of the book for the Bible Project and their free resources.
The first book that will be the studying is the book of James.
