Book of James

My desirer this year is to write more consistently as I have done in the past. To help I will be going through a book of the bible in full doing a small portion of the chapter at a time, giving my perspective.

I will be using a Bible Discovery method, what is the “Bible Discovery Method”? It is a method I use with any group of people I am studying the bible with. I have found that if a person discovers their own revelation from the word it will stay with them for a long time. It is a simple process: read the passage (a group of verses); ask a set of five simple questions of every person, one question at a time.

There are two sets of questions I use from NPL (No Place Left).

  1. What do you like about this passage?
  2. What is difficult about this passage?
  3. What does this passage tell us about God?
  4. What does this passage tell us about people?
  5. What are you going to do with this passage / your personal revelation?
  1. What does this passage tell us about God?
  2. What does this passage tell us about people?
  3. Is there a sin to avoid / promise to claim?
  4. Is there a example to follow / a command to obey?
  5. What are you going to to with this passage / your personal revelation?

When I start a new book I will be sharing an overview of the book for the Bible Project and their free resources.

The first book that will be the studying is the book of James.
