Gathering Together

This past weekend I had the privilege of serving various churches in a tent, where we have a continues 50 hours of prayer for our communities states and our nation. This was happening in every state of the United States and on many college campuses. There are so many things happening in the kingdom at one time, just in our city, we had nineteen different churches gathering together in one accord, worshipping and praying together.

This is the first time my wife and I were apart of such a grand scale of the kingdom coming together, and fulling Philippians 2

So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.

Philippians 2:1-3 ESV

For years my wife and I have desired to see the churches come together, and have seen in on a small scale. The skate park I labor at is a small microcosm of this where the various church came together to build and support a safe place for the youth on our city to skate while having Godly influence in there lives.

We saw the scripture in Ephesians more the just a local church but for the entire body of Christ. That every church is a joint that is suppling the other church in the area if one lacks we all lack.

Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.

Ephesians 4:15-16 ESV

As this Tent America event was going on all over the nation there was another aspect of God’s kingdom happening at the same time. The Messianic Christian believers, as well as Jews people all over the world, were celebrating Sukkot.

Sukkot (Hebrew: סוכות‎ or סֻכּוֹת, sukkōt), commonly translated as Feast of Tabernacles, known also as the Festival of Ingathering or in some translations the Festival of Shelters, is a biblical Jewish holiday celebrated on the 15th day of the seventh month, Tishrei (varies from late September to late October).

What a blessing to see the body of Christ coming together.
