Jesus Christ when we hear his name there are many images that run through our heads. Images of a teacher, a person, a leader, a deliverer, and God. For some Jesus was a fictitious person, that was created to start a movement against the Roman oppressors. Historically we have multiple resources, other than the Bible, of Jesus existing in the region of Israel. We have reference to Jesus in the book Josephus, a Roman scribe, wrote in the first century. Even the Quran, written many centuries later, mentions Jesus as a Prophet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jesus is know by many as the Son of God, but in this post we will be looking at various scriptures showing this humanity. As a Christian it is easier for us to see him at God but putting his manhood on the back burner. The world does just the opposite they see him as a man and not as God. Jesus was ALL MAN at the same time being ALL GOD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jesus was tempted in all points<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cFor we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.\u201d <\/em><\/p>Hebrews 4:15<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Jesus had His own will, which He denied<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cFather, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.\u201d<\/em><\/p>Luke 22:42<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Jesus tells us to follow Him on the way of self-denial<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThen Jesus said to His disciple<\/em>s, \u2018If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.\u2019\u201d <\/em><\/p>Matthew 16:24-25<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Jesus grew and developed spiritually<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAnd Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.\u201d<\/em><\/p>Luke 2:52<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n The Spirit of God testifies that Jesus came in the flesh<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cBy this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God.\u201d<\/em><\/p>1 John 4:2-3.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Jesus humbled Himself and came in the likeness of men<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cLet this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.\u201d<\/em><\/p>Philippians 2:5-8<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n The apostle Paul refers to \u201cthe Man Jesus Christ\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cFor there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle\u2014I am speaking the truth in Christ and not lying\u2014a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.\u201d <\/em><\/p>1 Timothy 2:5-7.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Jesus calls Himself a Man<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cJesus said to them, \u201cIf you were Abraham\u2019s children, you would do the works of Abraham. But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truth which I heard from God.\u201d <\/em><\/p>John 8:39-40<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Jesus had to fight and obey to be saved from death<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWho, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear, though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered.\u201d <\/em><\/p>Hebrews 5:7-9.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Jesus is called our \u201cforerunner\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThis hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.\u201d <\/em><\/p>Hebrews 6:19-20.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Jesus was \u201cmade like His brethren\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cInasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. For indeed He does not give aid to angels, but He does give aid to the seed of Abraham. Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.\u201d <\/em><\/p>Hebrews 2:14-17<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n The Bible tells us to follow in Jesus\u2019 steps<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cFor to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: \u2018Who committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth\u2019; who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness\u2014by whose stripes you were healed.\u201d <\/em><\/p>1 Peter 2:21-24.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n We can see that in every way Jesus is like us, he was tempted, grow spiritual, struggled with preserving himself over God’s will.
